Unlike the first game, the world feels much larger and more populated, with numerous towns where Link can find refuge and information.
Gameplay
The gameplay of Zelda II represents a significant shift from its predecessor. While traveling across the world map, players view the action from a top-down perspective, but encounters with enemies and visits to towns or palaces trigger a side-scrolling combat mode. This sequel introduced a comprehensive experience point system, allowing players to level up Link’s attack power, magic capacity, and life bar—a feature that has made it an outlier in the series.
