The core of the game's combat is the innovative "Addition" system. Unlike traditional turn-based RPGs where players simply select a command, The Legend of Dragoon requires timed button presses to complete attack sequences. If timed correctly, these "Additions" deal massive damage and generate Spirit Points (SP). Once enough SP is gathered, characters can transform into their Dragoon forms.
