Introduction

In the mid-1990s, few pop culture icons were as polarizing or as popular as the heavy-metal-loving slackers from Highland, Texas. When Mike Judge’s creation exploded onto MTV, it was only a matter of time before they transitioned into the world of interactive entertainment. Known alternatively as MTV's Beavis and Butt-Head: The Game, Beavis and Butt-Head, and MTV's Beavis & Butthead, the title remains a fascinating relic of 16-bit gaming. Unlike many licensed games of the era that felt like rushed cash-ins, this project was noted for being incredibly faithful to the source material, capturing the crude humor, low-brow aesthetic, and distinct voice of the animated series.

Story & Setting

The game kicks off in the most appropriate place possible: Beavis and Butt-head’s living room, where the duo is parked in front of their television. The narrative premise is simple yet perfectly in character. After seeing a commercial for a GWAR concert, the pair decides they absolutely must attend. However, they lack the funds and the tickets to get in.
