Taking cues from its predecessor, 1942, 1943: One Year After puts you in the cockpit of a Lockheed P-38 Lightning. Your mission: navigate the island-strewn Pacific theater of World War II and engage in aerial combat against the Japanese forces. As you soar through the skies, collect power-ups to enhance your fighter's capabilities and execute defensive loops to evade enemy fire, but be mindful of your limited lives, as you only have three. Your advancement is shown on a map displayed on the screen's left side.
