The Game Boy Advance version of Ace Lightning draws inspiration from the BBC television series, blending computer-generated imagery with live-action elements. Players initially navigate an overhead view of an Amusement Park, entering doorways that lead to 12 unique themed worlds. Each world presents a 2D side-scrolling platforming experience, challenging players with diverse enemies and end-level bosses as they seek the Gold Amulet. Completing a set number of levels unlocks one of two mini-games: a target range where players must shoot enemies within a time limit or a strength test where Ace swings to strike a bell atop a pole.
