Heroes of the Lance is a side-scrolling action game available on the Sega Master System/Mark III. The game faithfully incorporates Dungeons & Dragons statistics, mirroring character attributes found in the sourcebooks. The quest requires assembling eight heroes from the Dragonlance novel series, with only one character visible and playable at a time. Upon the death of the current hero, the next hero in the party immediately takes their place.
