Years after Atoa's victory over his evil counterpart, Eras, and Marok's rise to leadership in the Sarook Kingdom, a new, greater threat looms. Adventure Field 4, the direct sequel to Adventure Field 3, offers a 20-hour, semi-open-world, turn-based JRPG experience. Players will battle monsters, embark on quests, and strive to save the Sarook Kingdom. Gameplay involves fighting through dungeons, confronting powerful foes to collect soul gems, cooking, gardening, uncovering secrets through a day/night cycle, assisting NPCs with side quests, and finding numerous collectibles. The traditional methods of acquiring gold and items are replaced with a chest system, requiring players to locate chests and have them opened. For combat assistance, players can consult their royal teammate, Eserod, for insights into enemy strengths and weaknesses. Dark times are returning to the Sarook Kingdom, as it senses the burning souls of calamity, threatening its downfall, unless the player can save it.
